RED THREAD OF FATE

The concept was the red thread of fate from Chinese Mythology. It's a red string that connects soulmates to each other. However, I took a darker spin on the concept, instead, exploring the idea of feeling suffocated by fate or expectations. Initially, I had wanted to go the pretty flowers and ribbon route, but as I was drawing someone commented that it looked a bit like a marionette doll. Dolls, while beautiful, have no control over their actions. To me, I found the concept of the red string to be similar. If you’re bound to someone already then there's no choice in your future.
